Open your Smart USD Wallet and you see one number in dollars. That is your Smart USD balance.
But that one number is made of three digital dollars. They are called USDC, USDi, and USDT. Each one is a stablecoin. A stablecoin is a digital dollar that is meant to stay worth one US dollar.
At Bancoli, all three are eligible and fully backed stablecoins.
This guide explains who issues each one, how they add up to one balance, and what happens if USDT sits idle in your wallet. You control your funds. Bancoli does not own or control them.

One balance, three digital dollars
Smart USD is not a new coin. It is not a separate account either.
Smart USD is simply the combined view of the eligible USDC, USDi, and USDT in your own wallet. Each one counts at one dollar. So 100 USDC plus 50 USDi plus 25 USDT shows as 175 dollars of Smart USD.
Your detail views still show which coin each amount is in. So you always know what makes up the total.
Smart USD is not a deposit. It is not FDIC-insured.
Who issues each one
| Stablecoin | Full name | Who issues it |
|---|---|---|
| USDC | USD Coin | Circle |
| USDi | Bancoli USD | A licensed US money transmitter |
| USDT | Tether USD | Tether |
All three are eligible stablecoins at Bancoli. All three are fully backed. Each one is pegged to the US dollar.
USDC
USDC is issued by Circle. Every Bancoli user can use USDC in their Smart USD Wallet, as long as normal checks pass.
USDi
USDi is short for Bancoli USD. It is the stablecoin of the Bancoli program. It is issued by a licensed US money transmitter, not by Bancoli.
USDi can show in your balance even before your verification is done. Turning USDi back into regular dollars opens once your verification is fully approved. Partial steps along the way are not enough.
USDT
USDT is issued by Tether. You can receive and send USDT from your Smart Wallet, as long as normal checks pass. Those checks include the network the payer uses, so always check it first. Use only the network your account shows.
How money lands in your Smart USD Wallet
Customers can pay you in a few ways. They can send ACH, RTP, or a US domestic wire from a US bank account. Or they can pay in stablecoins.
Either way, the payment lands in your Smart USD Wallet.
When a US customer pays you by ACH or RTP, that money lands as the supported stablecoin for your account, at 1:1. Which stablecoin that is depends on where your business is. Your dashboard shows it.

What happens to idle USDT
Here is the rule in plain words, from Bancoli’s Terms of Use.
If a supported stablecoin, such as USDT, sits idle in your Smart Wallet, it converts to the settlement stablecoin approved for your account. This happens 24 hours after it arrives.
A few things to know:
- You turn it on. Turning on the auto-conversion feature in your Smart Wallet authorizes this conversion. It is also explained during Smart Wallet setup.
- It comes back to your same wallet. The new stablecoin lands in the same wallet you own. Your funds stay yours the whole time.
- You can skip it. Move the balance out of your wallet within the 24 hours and no conversion happens.
- It is not available everywhere. In some places the automatic conversion is turned off. There, any conversion needs your yes each time. Your verified location decides this.
- Verification matters too. The automatic conversion runs only when your verification is approved.
The simplest way to know what applies to you is your Bancoli dashboard. It shows what is turned on for your account.
