Sending an invoice is only half the job. The other half is picking how the buyer pays.

One wire for every invoice is simple. It is not always the best fit. Some buyers move slowly on ACH. Some need same-day settlement. Some already hold digital dollars. Some need a classic domestic wire. Some are already on Bancoli and can pay you on-chain.

A multi-rail offer lets you match the rail to the invoice, not the other way around.

This post explains ACH, RTP, Fedwire, USDC, and USDT in plain words. It also covers Bancoli-to-Bancoli on-chain payments when both accounts support the same stablecoin. Where you are eligible, Bancoli can send and receive USD on ACH, RTP, and wire. You stay in control of your funds. Bancoli does not own or control your money. The dashboard still feels like a normal account: balances, approvals, clear status.

For the receive, approve, settle habit, see What Is a Smart Wallet?. For Smart USD vs a regular USD business account, see Smart USD vs a Regular USD Business Account.

Why multi-rail beats one wire

Buyers are not identical.

  • A U.S. customer on a bank bill-pay habit often wants ACH.
  • A same-day need may point to RTP where both sides support it.
  • A larger or bank-ops-driven payment may still want Fedwire.
  • A stablecoin-first counterparty may prefer USDC or USDT.
  • Another Bancoli user may pay you Bancoli-to-Bancoli on-chain in a stablecoin both accounts support.

Offering only one rail forces every buyer into your habit. Offering a few clear options cuts failed invoices and back-and-forth.

Multi-rail does not mean every rail is always available. Eligibility, verification, location, supported assets, and what your dashboard shows still matter.

ACH

ACH is the familiar U.S. bank batch rail. Many business buyers already know it.

In plain buyer language:

  • Good for routine U.S. domestic USD payments
  • Often cheaper and more familiar than a wire for day-to-day invoices
  • Timing is usually measured in banking days, not seconds

On Bancoli, eligible clients may send and receive USD via ACH where that capability shows in the dashboard. InstantDocs guidance for Free accounts also draws a clear line: ACH push receive and send may be available when shown; Free accounts do not support ACH Debit (pull) from an external bank. Always use the account details shown in your Bancoli dashboard. Do not copy routing numbers from old emails or third-party sites.

ACH is a rail for moving USD. It is not the same thing as Smart USD (the combined view of eligible USDC, USDi, and USDT).

RTP

RTP means Real-Time Payments, the U.S. rail built for faster domestic USD moves when both sides can use it.

In plain buyer language:

  • Useful when the invoice needs a faster settle than classic ACH batch timing
  • Still a U.S. bank-rail conversation, not a stablecoin transfer
  • Both payer and payee need RTP support for that payment

Bancoli can send and receive USD via RTP where you are eligible. Check live eligibility in-product. This post does not invent RTP fee schedules, cut-off rules, or bank participation lists.

Fedwire

Fedwire is the classic U.S. domestic wire rail. Finance teams often say “wire” when they mean this path.

In plain buyer language:

  • Familiar for larger or ops-driven USD payments
  • Bank-hours and bank-ops habits still apply
  • Named domestic USD wire details are part of how some Bancoli routes present pay-in or pay-out plumbing

Bancoli knowledge treats named domestic USD ACH and Fedwire as product capabilities through approved routes (Brale-named details where eligibility and compliance checks pass). Bancoli can send and receive USD via wire where you are eligible. Provider notes also say U.S. domestic USD wires remain payment actions, not a persistent fiat USD bank-account tile in the app.

Do not treat Fedwire as SWIFT. Knowledge marks SWIFT-style international wire account details as not the default U.S. domestic story here. If your dashboard does not show a rail, assume it is not available yet.

USDC

USDC is a digital dollar on supported networks. On Bancoli it lives in your Smart Wallet path, not as a bank deposit tile labeled “fiat USD account.”

In plain buyer language:

  • Useful when the buyer already holds or prefers USDC
  • Settlement follows the Smart Wallet habit: receive, approve, settle
  • Smart USD can show eligible USDC (with USDi and USDT) as one clear USD picture

USDC in and out are Smart Wallet features. Moving funds still needs wallet access and approval (MFA or passkey). Wallet access uses at least two social logins from Google, Apple, X, or Telegram. Prefer those wallet logins different from your Bancoli business login when you can. Only people with wallet access can move funds.

You stay in control of those funds. Bancoli does not own or control them.

USDT

USDT is another digital dollar option on supported networks. On Bancoli it also lives in your Smart Wallet path, next to USDC, not as a fiat USD bank-account tile.

In plain buyer language:

  • Useful when the buyer already holds or prefers USDT
  • Same receive, approve, settle habit as USDC
  • Eligible USDT can sit in the Smart USD combined USD picture with USDC and USDi

USDT in and out are Smart Wallet features. Moving funds still needs wallet access and approval (MFA or passkey). The same wallet-access rules apply: at least two social logins from Google, Apple, X, or Telegram; those people gate the yes; only wallet-access people can move funds.

You stay in control of those funds. Bancoli does not own or control them.

Pick USDC or USDT based on what the buyer already holds and what both sides support for that invoice. Do not invent network lists or fee tables here. Check the dashboard for live support.

Bancoli-to-Bancoli

Bancoli-to-Bancoli is available. It is an on-chain payment between two Bancoli users in a stablecoin that both accounts support.

In plain buyer language:

  • Useful when the payer is already on Bancoli
  • The asset must be a stablecoin supported on both the sender account and the receiver account
  • Settlement follows the on-chain Smart Wallet habit: receive, approve, settle
  • You stay in control of your funds. Bancoli does not own or control your money.

This is not a bank ACH, RTP, or Fedwire transfer. It is not a claim that every stablecoin works for every pair of accounts. Offer Bancoli-to-Bancoli when both sides can use the same supported stablecoin for that payment.

How to pick per invoice

Use a simple checklist before you send the invoice:

  1. Where is the buyer? U.S. domestic bank rails (ACH, RTP, Fedwire) fit U.S. bank payers. USDC or USDT fit buyers who hold digital dollars. Bancoli-to-Bancoli fits another Bancoli user when both accounts support the same stablecoin. Instant Checkout can fit buyers paying from a U.S. bank account or a Bancoli account.
  2. How fast does cash need to land? Faster needs may point to RTP, USDC, USDT, or Bancoli-to-Bancoli when both sides support them. Routine bills often fit ACH.
  3. How does the buyer already pay? Match their habit when you can.
  4. What does your dashboard allow today? Offer only rails and assets you can actually receive on.
  5. Who approves on your side? Keep wallet-access people and MFA or passkey approvals clear before large moves.

One practical pattern: list two options on the invoice (for example ACH and USDC), add USDT when the buyer holds Tether, and use Bancoli-to-Bancoli when both sides are on Bancoli with a shared supported stablecoin. Keep Fedwire or RTP as another option when the amount or timing needs it.

FAQ

Do I have to offer every rail on every invoice?

No. Offer what you can receive and what the buyer can pay. Multi-rail means options, not clutter.

Is ACH the same as a wire?

No. ACH is the batch bank rail many U.S. buyers already use. Fedwire is the classic domestic wire rail. Timing, ops habits, and how banks present them differ.

Can Bancoli send and receive USD on ACH, RTP, and wire?

Yes, where you are eligible. That is a high-level product claim. Live details stay in your dashboard.

Is USDC or USDT a bank deposit?

No. Both live in Bancoli’s Smart Wallet path as digital dollar balances you control. Smart USD is a combined view of eligible USDC, USDi, and USDT. It is not a fiat USD bank-account tile.

Does Bancoli own the USD I receive?

No. You stay in control of your funds. Bancoli does not own or control your money.

What is Bancoli-to-Bancoli?

An on-chain payment between two Bancoli users in a stablecoin that both accounts support. Check that both sides support the same asset before you put it on the invoice.

What is Instant Checkout?

Instant Checkout is available. Buyers can use it with U.S. bank accounts or with Bancoli accounts. Use it when that checkout path fits the invoice. Live eligibility stays in-product.

Where do fees and eligibility live?

In your live Bancoli dashboard and product disclosures. This post does not invent fee tables or state laundry lists.

If you want buyers to pay on the rail that fits each invoice, start with Bancoli’s Smart USD Wallet and the rails your account shows today: Smart USD Wallet.

Instant Checkout is also available. Buyers can use Instant Checkout with U.S. bank accounts or with Bancoli accounts. Offer it when you want a faster checkout path alongside the rails in this guide. Check live eligibility and what each buyer can use in-product.

Smart USD Wallet remains the mainstream wallet path. FX is built into that path without needing an API.

Enterprise teams that need an API can look at the Global Business Account as a separate tier. It is not the default next step for this rails guide.
